If you follow fitness bloggers on social media, you know that they tend to look insanely toned (it’s what they do, after all). While you can totally use those photos for fitspo, sometimes it’s a little disheartening to see bodies that look way different from yours, despite the fact that you also eat well and exercise regularly.
Now, one fitness blogger wants people to know that what you see online is often just an illusion. Anna Victoria posted a collage on Instagram Tuesday of two images that appear to be taken in a row. In one pic, Anna is standing, showing tight abs. In the second she is seated, showing stomach rolls. “Me 1% of the time vs. 99% of the time. And I love both photos equally,” she captioned the pics. “Good or bad angles don’t change your worth.”

I LOVED that because it sends such a powerful message that our belly rolls, cellulite, stretch marks are nothing to apologize for, to be ashamed of, or to be obsessed with getting rid of! As I'm getting older, I have cellulite and stretch marks that aren't going away, and I welcome them. They represent a life fully lived (for 28 years so far :)) and a healthy life and body at that. How can I be mad at my body for perfectly normal "flaws"? This body is strong, can run miles, can lift and squat and push and pull weight around, and it's happy not just because of how it looks, but because of how it feels. So when you approach your journey, I want you to remember these things: I will not punish my body I will fuel it I will challenge it AND I will love it ??? Anna went on to say that belly rolls, cellulite, and stretch marks are nothing people should be ashamed of—or be focused on getting rid of. “As I’m getting older, I have cellulite and stretch marks that aren’t going away, and I welcome them,” she says. “They represent a life fully lived and a healthy life and body at that. How can I be mad at my body for perfectly normal ‘flaws?’”
Anna points out that her body is strong, can run miles, and can lift all kinds of weight, and she feels good because of what her body can do. She finished with this message: “So when you approach your journey, I want you to remember these things: I will not punish my body, I will fuel it, I will challenge it, AND I will love it.”
This isn’t the first time Anna has gotten real about her own “flaws.” In May she shared a similar set of comparison photos taken right before her wedding: one with flawless abs, and one with rolls. “If you focus on how bad you look in the bad angles, at least focus on how good you look in the good ones too!!” she wrote.
