It wasn’t until they saw picture of themselves that they decided to make a drastic change.
Samantha said: “”We both saw photos of important moments of our lives and were just disgusted with who we let ourselves become, so we decided to make a change. It took me a little longer, but I did it.”
In 2017, Rick discovered the keto diet, which is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet.
As well as this, Rick began working six days a week at the gym and doing cardio, ab workouts and weight training.
Following they engagement in October 2018 and impressed with the changes Rick had made Samantha decided to follow suit.
Samantha said: “”We have been eating keto; keeping our net carbs under twenty to thirty grams-a-day and we workout six days-a-week,” she said.
“We do twenty to forty-five minutes of cardio, fifteen minutes of ab workouts, and thirty to forty-five minutes of weight training.
“We love being able to wear whatever we want now. We no longer have the trouble of not being able to find clothes, in fact we can’t decide between all the options that we now have. It’s liberating to have more energy and just to feel good about yourself more often.
“We both have more sex drive since losing the weight, as well as more stamina. I even wear less make up now.”
The couple now workout together and encourage one another. In just six months Samantha has shrunk to 10st and a UK size eight.
While Rick slimmed down to a healthy 15st 5lbs.
The couple have credited their weight loss to feeling more energised, both in and out of the bedroom and say their sex life has been re-born due to their dramatic weight loss.
Sharing advice with others, Samantha added: “”Start fresh; if that means getting rid of what’s in your pantry, or getting some new workout shoes, it helps to start motivation.
“Remember that you can do anything you want to do, and if you want it bad enough, what’s hard now becomes easier as you get stronger.
“Find someone to keep you accountable as well, someone you can’t or won’t hide any slip ups from. It helps to have someone in your corner.”
