Charlotte Aitchison (better known as Charli XCX) has been teasing her upcoming album with a series of steamy Instagram photos. In her latest photos, the singer-songwriter poses in a see-through bra and panty set. The skimpy nude outfit leaves little to the imagination and highlights a surprise feature on the talented star: chiselled abs.
She captioned the photo: “my album is beautiful and soft and aggressive and emotional and clubby and tender all at once. I’ve really put all of ME into this. Every aspect of my personality, truth about romantic relationships, working relationships, friends. It’s honest and raw and I can’t wait for you to hear it… also… THE COLLABORATIONS!!!!! Guess who angels?????”
Her upcoming album may be soft and tender, but her stomach is anything but. Charli XCX has been hiding some seriously enviable abs under her over-the-top performance outfits.
So, what’s the pop star’s secret?
She does go to the gym, occasionally. However, she told the Daily Mail she cares more about her workout attire than her actual workout. “I went to the gym for the first time last night, and I was way more into what I was wearing than what I was actually doing,” she said. At least she’s honest, but that still doesn’t explain the abs.
Abs definition like that doesn’t just appear out of thin air. She admits dancing around on stage and performing counts as a workout. “I guess being on stage is like exercise,” she told the Daily Mail. Ding ding ding, dance cardio definitely qualifies as exercise!
It just so happens, she’s been spending a lot of time on stage lately, too. Most recently, she performed at the Radio 1 Big Weekend at Stewart Park on May 25, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.
“I’ve really wanted to push my sound and push pop as far as it can go,” Charli XCX shared backstage with NME. “I feel really proud of the music that I’ve made, so I really want the songs to have as much of a moment individually as possible.”
She should also be very proud of her abs. They are having a moment, too.
