Kayla Itsines Responds To Body Shamers On Instagram

Kayla Itsines has hit back at haters on Instagram who’ve shamed her for being “too skinny”. The fitness superstar says that when she flexes her muscles in a photo, she gets criticised for being too slim.

" TOO SKINNY!! " …. whenever I upload a photo like this, I always get this comment. When I upload a photo sitting down it's "awesome", when I upload a photo of me flexing its "so strong" or "this is too much". Just a reminder that I am the same person in each photo! If turn to the side, sit down or lay down, I look completely different! Photos show ONE part of you in just that moment. Just remember that. Photos on my Instagram are taken each DAY…not weeks or years apart. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what you look like…. because deep down that is not what people care about the most. People will love you because of the person you are on the INSIDE… not for what you look like on the outside – THAT is what is most important! www.kaylaitsines.com/app

“‘TOO SKINNY!!’… Whenever I upload a photo like this, I always get this comment,” she said about the above pic. “When I upload a photo sitting down it’s ‘awesome’, when I upload a photo of me flexing it’s ‘so strong’ or ‘this is too much’.”

Kayla rightly points out that regardless of her pose – she still has the same body in every photo. The photos are just taken from different angles in different poses. “Just a reminder that I am the same person in each photo! If turn to the side, sit down or lay down, I look completely different! Photos show ONE part of you in just that moment. Just remember that. Photos on my Instagram are taken each DAY… not weeks or years apart,” she explains.

In fact, a number of fitness bloggers have posted photos to prove that your body looks very different from every angle.

Kayla also had some words of wisdom to put this issue in perspective. “At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what you look like…. because deep down that is not what people care about the most. People will love you because of the person you are on the INSIDE… not for what you look like on the outside – THAT is what is most important!” Bye, body shamers.
