People will have their preferred weight loss methods, some might like changing their diets, while others love exercise.
One woman, known as jonquil_dress on Reddit, revealed she lost a whopping 8st 13lbs on the open platform.
At her heaviest, the 35-year-old tipped the scales at 20st, but now weighs a healthy 11st 8lbs.
So how did she do it?
“I’ve achieved this mainly by counting calories”

The woman told Reddit users she began by tracking everything she ate and stuck to a daily calorie limit.
She said: “My calorie goal has varied from 1,250 to 1,800, 1,500 currently.
“I’ve had a lot of days where I was well over my goal and I’ve still succeeded.”
Below the Reddit user’s post, which secured around 1,100 upvotes, there were more than 20 comments from others praising her incredible transformation.
She explained: “I’ve achieved this mainly by counting calories.
“I’ve recently taken up aerial yoga, but 99% of my success comes from food, not exercise.”
Jonquil_dress also revealed the weight loss journey took her two years and she is working hard to maintain her progress.
“The biggest difference in keeping it off this time around has been logging every calorie no matter what – even the 6,000 calorie days – to the best of my ability,” she concluded.
The Reddit user revealed she is hoping to lose another 10lbs, but is pleased with her progress so far.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time someone’s shared their weight loss journey on Reddit.
Previously, one user revealed how they dropped 11st in nine months.
“FlakeyMusician” told the social media site that he began following the keto diet to melt the pounds away.
This method requires slimmers to follow a low-carb high-fat diet plan which means they have to eat less than 25g of carbs a day.
