The Newest Addition to Clinique's Dramatically Different Family Looks SO Different

It's 2018, and flashy, new moisturizers seem to launch every other day (we're not complaining). Sometimes, though, it's the most understated formulas that perform the most amazingly. Case in point: Clinique dropped a new moisturizer this month and it's not bedazzled, holographic, or otherwise eye-catching, but it's definitely worth a second glance. Dubbed the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly, it could very well be Clinique's most exciting launch of the year.

Let's backtrack. This new product stems from the fan-favorite Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion+. If you don't know it by name, you probably know it by its buttercup-yellow formula. After all, it has become one of the brand's most iconic products and has inspired a few spin-offs targeted to various skin types. The most recent "jelly" addition is a totally new take on the lotion.

Unlike its Dramatically Different predecessors, this product ditches the yellow hue for a clear bottle and totally transparent, jelly-like formula. It's the leanest, most lightweight version of the moisturizer yet, making it ideal for the sweltering, hot days that the month of August will bring.

The jelly has a similar feel and finish of a water-gel cream: cool on contact with a dewy dry-down. Plus, it's oil-free, not the least bit greasy, yet still manages to quench skin like a tall glass of water thanks to an infusion of some of the biggest players in the moisturizing ingredients game, including glycerin and hyaluronic acid. And just to keep all that good stuff in, the formula is laced with a barrier-protecting blend of barley and cucumber extracts.

It's also fragrance-free, so it's great for sensitive skin types. And all skin types, really — especially for city dwellers, thanks to an invisible shield that thwarts pollution for 24 hours. (Just don't forget to layer with SPF 30.)

You can shop the new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly for $28 on and now.
