Watch ‘Jeopardy!’ Host Mayim Bialik Take the ‘Sitting-Rising Test’ on TikTok

When Mayim Bialik isn’t on the set of her hit Fox sitcom Call Me Kat or taping new episodes of Jeopardy!, she’s discussing mental health on her podcast Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown. And while the 45-year-old neuroscientist explores different topics, sometimes she enjoys putting research and studies to the test, but it doesn’t always go as planned.

In her latest podcast episode, Mayim spoke to Dr. David Sinclair, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School, about his book Lifespan: Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To. Before diving into the topic of aging, she decided to try out the sitting-rising test (SRT), which the book says helps determine a person’s biological age.

“Sit on the floor, barefooted with legs crossed. Lean forward quickly and see if you can get up,” she read out loud. With that, Mayim got up and tried to do the exercise. “Look out, SRT coming atcha,” she said.

With her fellow cohost/boyfriend Jonathan Cohen watching her, Mayim struggled to get down on the floor. Watch for yourself below to see how she managed.

This is called the Sitting-Rising Test (or SRT) and I dare you to try it! #challenge #bialikbreakdown #mayimbialik

“Her back has been out for three weeks and now, she’s going to do this standing test,” Jonathan explained.

Afterward, Mayim encouraged her TikTok followers to try out the sitting-rising test for themselves (safely, of course). But first, many folks couldn’t hold back their laughter seeing The Big Bang Theory star attempt the challenge.

“Great job 👏😂😂,” one person wrote. “Girl! 😂😂😂,” another added. “Love this woman!!! Brains, beauty, and humor. She’s the whole package. Thank you for all the laughter,” a different fan said.

As for the fans who tried the sitting-rising test, they reported back on their experiences. “I can lean forward and make a really loud old lady noise 😫 I live on the floor now” to which Mayim replied “😂😂😂.”

Just another day on Mayim’s TikTok.
