Demand for herpes treatment soared in Coachella Valley during the festival this year, a report claims.
HerpAlert – a website that can diagnose people based on a texted photo and, if they’re positive, sends a prescription to their local pharmacy – told TMZ they saw a spike in diagnoses in Indio, California, in the last month.
While they normally deal with 12 cases a day, the rate spiked to 250 a day between April 12 and April 21, the dates of the festival.
In two weeks, 1,105 cases were reported in Indio, Coachella Valley and nearby Palm Desert, LA, San Diego and Orange.

Herpes is an incurable, infectious disease transmitted by contact.
But while the virus cannot be eliminated, it can be treated very well – better than most other viruses, such as measles.
There are seven types of herpes virus, but two ‘herpes simplex’ viruses, which cause genital herpes and cold sores.
HSV-1 affects the mouth, nose and back (cold sores).
HSV-2 affects the genitals and buttocks.
Starting medication within 12 to 24 hours of infection helps to crush the virus in its early stages.
