Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp shared a postpartum update on Instagram today, one of many since she gave birth to baby Dove in February. Today’s dispatch focused on celebrating little victories when it comes to health and wellness, instead of obsessing over weight loss.
“Many of you are asking for a postpartum update,” she wrote. Teddi explained that Dove has been a better sleeper than her older children, Slate and Cruz, and fell easily into a routine. “At 4 months, she’s sleeping through the night and we are in a rhythm (after the first three months of highs and lows; phew were there some lows).”
Teddi, who’s also a nutrition coach and trainer, said committing to wellness kept her sane while taking care of an infant these past few months.
“Having that consistency of clean-eating and daily activity gave me a routine that helped me manage my time and anxiety,” she wrote. “I do not share my weight, but since it’s my most-asked question, I will say that I am 9lbs away from where I was before I had Baby Dove.”
While she did share a photo of her weight-loss progress, she’s less interested in numbers on a scale and more interested in what she calls “non-scale victories.”
What’s a “non-scale victory?” For Teddi, it’s reaching a new personal record on her Peloton, or “a hilly walk with the kiddos that doesn’t require Mommy having to stop to breathe, or saying no to the 8th Aperol on Wednesday evenings when Twitter attacks.” (Much of RHOBH‘s tenth season was filmed while Teddi was pregnant with Dove, and airs every Wednesday.)

Her best advice to new moms (especially during these stressful times): “Just know that each journey is different.”
