We all love a good scrambled egg for breakfast, but Luke Evans is taking it to the next level. While on vacation in Bogotá, Colombia, Evans found his “perfect post-workout breakfast” where you might not think to look—a food cart.
“Arepa de huevo,” writes the actor in the caption of his Instagram video showing the chef behind his post-workout meal. “[Game of Thrones actor Michiel Huisman] and I have found our perfect post gym breakfast from the amazing cocinera Paula who cooks these every morning from her tiny street food cart in Bogotá. Delicioso!!”
Unlike your typical bacon egg and cheese, this Colombian-style arepa is made with a fried corn cake stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, and ham for a protein-packed meal made for building muscle. One large egg contains around 7 grams of protein, and this arepa appears to use at least two, combined with a slice of white cheese, two slices of ham, and a scrambled egg, this common street food should come in at with at least 45 grams of protein per serving. Now that’s delicioso.

If you’re looking to build muscle, this would be the meal for you to get gains like Evans for his role as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast prequel The Little Town. However if you’re looking to cut, this might not be your best bet, as this meal comes with plenty of calories fried and topped with butter, which could come out to about 1,000 calories in one sitting. Whether you’re watching your macros or not, this is one swell meal to look for on your next Colombian vacation.
