Watch Magic Johnson Do an Arm Workout from the Deck of His Yacht

Much like the Rock never skips a workout on Sundays, Magic Johnson just proved he won’t take a day off from his exercise routine even when vacationing on a yacht in the middle of the ocean. In a recent Instagram post, the 61-year-old NBA legend and Dream Team icon revealed that he’s still as buff as ever, looking lean and strong and smiling while performing an impressive series of bicep curls on the deck of his yacht.

“I’m officially on vacation and still working out,” he captioned the post, earning instant praise from the likes of celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, who reacted with a string of muscle emojis. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel also reacted to the video on Twitter, photoshopping himself into a corner of the boat where he can be seen casually observing Magic’s routine. “This is my kind of workout. Thanks for finally taking me on vacation,” Kimmel joked.

‘From the looks of things, Johnson isn’t just doing dumbbell workouts, either—as the camera pans around, a full weight bench with a barbell and plates is also visible on the boat’s deck. In a series of follow-up posts, Johnson revealed that he’s currently vacationing in Greece, where he’s been doing some sightseeing with his family and treating himself to some fresh-caught grouper.

For those familiar with Johnson’s famously type-A daily routine, it will likely come as little surprise to see the Hall of Famer putting in the reps early in the morning. Speaking with CNBC’s Make It last year, Johnson said he regularly wakes up at 4:30 in the morning so that he can put in a full two-hour workout, which used to include jogging five miles to his office in Beverly Hills. (These days, he’s apparently downgraded to power walking to spare his knees.)

While he might be taking it easy on the cardio, however, he’s clearly still leaving plenty of time for strength work, and it shows. Until you get a yacht of your own, you can still follow Johnson’s example: This four-week transformation plan requires just one dumbbell to get you moving.
