If you or someone you know has ever considered participating in a clinical trial, there are a number of resources available to help identify the right study. The most well-known resources include government-sponsored portals such as clinicaltrials.gov and clinicalstudies.info.nih.gov in the United States, and EudraCT in the European Union. This information is more geared to healthcare professionals, however, so the information may be confusing for patients, their caregivers and advocates.
To address this issue, Pfizer launched Find a Trial at the end of 2017, based upon feedback from a survey of patients and advocates. Find a Trial is a searchable database of information about currently running Pfizer trials in language that is easy to understand. It is continuously updated to include downloadable brochures and important logistical information including trial locations and eligibility criteria.
Interested patients can be matched to a trial and take advantage of the opportunity to sign up for a trial directly from the site. If someone chooses to participate in a trial, there are several ways Pfizer supports them. For example, Pfizer may offer the flexibility to use their own technology from home instead of some clinic visits, and participation in the PfizerLink alumni network to learn about trial results.
