Molly Burke is a blind YouTuber and motivational speaker with a whopping two million subscribers and counting. She also happens to be a model and author, too. Recently, Allure had the pleasure of catching up with the 26-year-old influencer virtually to find out her morning and nighttime routine for our brand-new video series: First 5 Last 5.
Like so many of us, Burke is a night owl and loves to sleep in, and because she's her own boss, she can do so more days than not. "I'll usually wake up around 9:30 and 10 a.m.," she says, before sharing one of her favorite things to do in the mornings, which is make her bed. "I love picking out all of the fun textures and placing everything perfectly to make it all aesthetically pleasing," she says.
After making her bed, the first thing Burke does is drink what she calls her "morning wake up juice," which consists of hot water with lemon and fresh ginger. "The reason I like to drink this is because I talk a lot, like you can hear I have a morning voice right now. I feel like it's just a good fresh way to start the day. And it's soothing on my stomach."
Once she's done with her wake up juice, Burke heads to the bathroom to brush her teeth and begin her skin-care routine. "All of the products in my bathroom have a very specific placement," she says. "Because I'm blind, I can't just rummage through a messy drawer to find things, so I keep everything super organized."
As for what products she uses in the AM, the Summer Fridays Super Amino Gel Cleanser is a major staple, as is Tarte's Drink of H20 Hydrating Boost Moisturizer, which she calls her "holy grail."
Because she's not a morning person, Burke likes to keep her routine as parred down as possible, so she typically sticks to just two or three skin-care products (including cleanser) before starting her makeup. "No two days look the same, which means every day I play with my face and make it look something different, too," she says in regards to her go-to makeup.
Then it's deodorant time. Burke's longtime favorite is Lavanila's The Healthy Deodorant, which has the Allure editor seal of approval, too. "I've tried a lot of natural deodorants and I also like the Schmidt's Natural Deodorant, but I would say this one is my favorite, although it's slightly less budget friendly," she says.
