Getting married can be a stressful time and any bride can act a little out of the ordinary in the run-up to the big day.
But one bride seems to have gone a little too far with her control over her wedding – if a ‘leaked’ e-mail posted on the web is anything to go by.
The e-mail, sent by a wedding coordinator, was shared to reddit by an apparent disbelieving guest.
It reads: "I am reaching out to all confirmed guests to do a finally (sic) head count and go over some rules and regulations of the wedding day."
The rules and regulations start off with arriving 15-30 minutes early, which is fair enough.
Nobody wants to walk into the wedding late and ruin the bride’s big entrance.
The second rule is that guests cannot wear white, cream or ivory.
Again, we can kind of see where she’s coming from with that one – it’s tradition for guests to avoid those colours so they don’t match the bride.
But then the list starts to get a little… bizarre.
- Please do not wear anything other than a basic bob or ponytail
- Please do not have a full face of makeup
- Do not record during the seramony (sic)
- Do not check in on FB until instructed
- Use #*********** when posting all pictures
- DO NOT TALK TO THE BRIDE AT ALL.
- Everyone will toast with Remy. No acceptance (sic).
- Lastly must come with gift 75$ or more or you want (sic) be admitted in.
So that’s no make-up and no fancy hairstyles for guests, which they could probably come to terms with.
Not speaking to the bride seems a little extreme.
And they’re going to be out of pocket after the $75 gift and glass of Remy.
Reddit users questioned the spelling mistakes in the list, with one suggesting the bride might have actually written the e-mail herself.
They wrote: ‘Yeah I’m finding it hard to believe that a wedding planner doesn’t spell [ceremony] correctly…. If the bride is requesting 75$ or more gifts she’s probably too shallow to hire a planner and is posing as one to sound official and blame someone else for being bitchy.’
Another commented: ‘Sure the wedding coordinator isn’t actually the bride? Seems like a bridezilla demand list.’
Whoever posted the screengrab to reddit has done a great job of crossing out all names on the e-mail, so it’s impossible to confirm if it’s a legitimate list of horror wedding rules or a great practical joke the bride is playing on her guests.
Let’s hope it’s the latter…
