Fitness expert shares ‘simple answer’ to losing belly fat

When looking for exercise and weight-loss inspiration, you might turn to social media and scroll through countless TikToks and Instagram videos promoting the best exercises to target stubborn belly fat.

However, there’s no such thing as a workout that can blast your tummy fat, according to Female Fitness Coach Tina.

The expert took to her TikTok to warn not to fall for these videos and revealed the simple answer to losing belly fat.

She said: “It’s super common to see posts like this on Instagram with these really good headlines and they sound really great.

“But this just does not exist, guys. There’s no such thing as spot reducing fat in any area of your body, including your belly.”

@tonedwithtina 5 exercises that will help you BURN lower belly fat…Opps just kidding there are actually no exercises that are going to help you “burn” belly fat… because belly-fat (and fat anywhere else on your body) CANNOT be spot reducedWhat does this mean?It means that unlike muscle, where you CAN specifically target where you want to build more of it (ex, bigger glutes, bigger biceps etc), you CANNOT target the specific spot that you want your body to lose fat from (read that again!!) Does this mean you shouldn’t train your abs/core? No, you absolutely should- as training these muscles transfers to better functionality, and aesthetically speaking, training your abs will grow your ABDOMINAL MUSCLES but it will NOT burn away the fat that’s covering those muscles (and that’s the part that majority of woman are concerned with, is the fat covering the abs, not the desire to have a 6 pack itself) “So what do I do if I want to lose my bellyfat”?The answer is simple (not easy, but a simple concept). You have to create a calorie deficit (where your body is burning more calories than it’s consuming). When your body is burning more energy than it’s consuming, it starts resorting to your stored body-fat to burn extra energy from that it needs to function— this is how we lose fat! Unfortunately we have no control over where we lose fat from first (my love handles/belly is usually the last to go). But all the unwanted fat WILL eventually go if you stay consistent. My best advice is to make exercise a lifestyle choice (not just a temporary “end goal” choice), focus on quality foods in the appropriate portion sizes/calories to help create a deficit, a daily step goal (game changer), & simply focus on what is in your controlIt really is that simple, I wish there was some magical pill/solution but nothing will ever beat the basics.Looking for a game plan to solidify all of this into an action plan? Unlike muscles, where you can specifically target areas where you want to build them, the fitness coach explained that you simply can’t target the specific spot that you want your body to lose fat from.

Fortunately, the “answer is simple” when it comes to an effective way to lose belly fat, according to Tina.

She explained you need to create a calorie deficit where your body is burning more calories than it’s consuming.
