It’s time, M&M’s fans. We are finally going to be able to eat a handful of the candies with the highly anticipated hazelnut spread filling—so basically, Nutella-flavored M&M’s. The new flavor begins rolling out in retail stores in April in a single size, share size, and stand-up pouch share size. I will likely be purchasing the share size—and most likely not be sharing.
If you’re a die-hard M&M’s fan, you just may be able to try the Hazelnut Spread M&M’s a bit early. On Saturday, March 30, M&M’s will have a one-day-only stand in the middle of NYC’s Grand Central Terminal. Passionate M&M’s fans can stand onstage and prove their excitement in exchange for a bag of the Hazelnut M&M’s before they’re available for purchase. “Some will shout, some will dance, some will sing,” per a press release. “But what they all have in common is that everybody will want M.”
Ready to “go Hazelnutty”? Head to Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall this Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. You don’t have to be in New York City to have the opportunity to try the M&M’s early though. If you tag your “passionate” tweets with #GoHazelnutty and #MMSFirstTaste, you’ll have the chance to win an exclusive pack of the new flavor delivered to your home within hours. Now THAT is something worth going #Hazelnutty over.
Hazelnut Spread M&M’s will be a permanent addition to the M&M’s lineup, so if you miss out on trying the flavor early, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the candy come April.

If you’ve ever dreamed of a more snackable way to scarf down Nutella, you’re in luck. M&M’s is releasing Hazelnut Spread M&M’s, People reports. They’ll still have their classic candy coating but will be filled with creamy, chocolatey, nutty hazelnut, similar to the popular spread Nutella.
This new flavor joins a slew of new M&M’s releases in the past few years. There are White Chocolate Peanut, Halloween Cookies and Screeem, and international flavors like English Toffee Peanut, Mexican Jalapeño Peanut, and Thai Coconut Peanut. Plus, earlier this year, we learned the results of M&M’s Flavor Vote campaign, with the winner being a Crunchy Mint flavor that featured a rice crispy chocolate center and a minty chocolate shell.
“The industry is changing and consumer tastes are evolving. We’re continuing to recognize and anticipate demand,” said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, senior brand director, in a statement to People about the new hazelnut flavor. ““We’re thrilled to deliver this new flavor with color and fun, in a way that only M&M’s can.”
While the Hazelnut Spread M&M’s won’t be available until April 2019, there’s another new treat to tide you over until then, as M&M’s is also releasing candy bars. As Markets Insider reports, the new M&M’s Chocolate Bars feature a hunk of milk chocolate with M&M’s Minis sprinkled throughout, and they come in flavors like milk chocolate, peanut, crispy, crispy mint, and almond.
The bars will be available in December 2018, just in time for the holidays.
