Why does it seem like cakes are only appropriate to buy when you have something to celebrate or have company coming over? Sure, no one bats an eyelash when you bring home a pack of cookies to munch on throughout the week, but buy a cake to eat on your couch while binging Netflix and it’s suddenly not OK. I reject that! I think you should buy a cake whenever you please…starting with these giant cake from Costco.
Instagrammer @Costcoempties spotted this red velvet cake by Junior’s at their local Costco. Each cake is made with layers of chocolatey red velvet cake layered with cream cheese frosting. While Junior’s is typically known for its cheesecake, it only stands to reason that they would also excel at the art of cream cheese frosting, right? Plus, the fact that the cake comes in at a whopping three pounds doesn’t exactly hurt either, right?

From the looks of it, we were definitely not the only ones excited by this news: “Juniors Red Velvet cake is my absolute favorite cake! Thanks for the heads up!!” one person wrote. “That looks soooooooo good!” another said. Of course, what’s available at your local Costco will vary, so keep your eyes peeled or red velvety goodness on your next Costco run.
If you do happen to be able to add one of these to cart, you can expect to pay just $13 for this whopper of a cake. If you choose to share it, well, that’s up to you.
