Melissa Alcantara led the first ever WH LIVE+ virtual event on May 30, and TBH my legs are still sore. Don’t worry if you missed it: You can still get your sweat on with the celeb trainer, too.
Melissa’s entire 25-minute Lower Body Blast (featuring her signature booty and leg-toning moves) is now available above for whenever you want to sweat it out. Fair warning, you might be walking a bit, shall we say, gingerly after this workout.
Melissa starts with some static squats and quickly ups the intensity to speedy curtsy squats, leg lifts, fire hydrants, frogger jumps, and more with barely a breather until the last rep. She says you can add resistance bands for more burn, but it’s still a scorcher with no equipment.
Melissa works up a sweat herself, too. “That was intense and I’m dripping all over the floor,” she says as she catches her breath.
After the sweat sesh, Melissa sat down (virtually) with Women’s Health editor-in-chief Liz Plosser. During their Q&A, she answered fitness and recovery questions, discussed how working out at home can transform your bod, explained what’s in her new book Fit Gurl: The Total-Body Turnaround Program, and much more.
