When Hafþór ‘Thor’ Björnsson’s fight with fellow strongman Eddie Hall was first announced, we were promised the “World’s Strongest Fight”, but judging by Björnsson’s incredible weight loss and transformation, the fight we’re actually going to see will be between two lean, mean fighting machines.
The former Game of Thrones star, Björnsson, recently took to Instagram to reveal his new lean physique and 50kg weight loss, which is the result of the man formerly known as The Mountain cutting his daily calories from 10,000 per day to ‘just’ 4,000.
“I’m extremely happy with my shape right now,” Bjornsson said. “When I started this journey, I weighed 205 kilograms. And now I’m down to 155. Feeling good, feeling healthy.”
Björnsson’s fight with Hall was scheduled to take place on September 18th, but had to be postponed due to Hall suffering a gruesome bicep tear, which he is thankfully in the process of recovering from.
In a recent YouTube video, Hall said that he was still three-weeks away from being able to handle heavy loads having had his bicep muscle reattached to the bone just three weeks ago.
Björnsson, meanwhile, is now set to take on the world’s number one ranked arm wrestler and former member of the Canadian Special Forces, Devon Larratt.
Just like his match-up with Hall, the bout is somewhat of a grudge match after Larratt beat Björnsson handily in an arm wrestling contest back in 2015.
