Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar Australia, the 43-year-old opened up about her love of Pilates and preference for a plant-based diet.
“It’s totally changed my body,” she said of the workout. “I’m always calculating my activity. If I haven’t been moving a lot, I can’t eat a lot. Or maybe it’s a cheat day. But I’m honest with myself.”
She also stays away from alcohol, telling Red Magazine back in 2017 that she focuses each meal around protein-packed vegetables, dark leafy greens and fruit: “I have juices and kale and green salads every day. When I’m eating healthily, getting enough sleep and not drinking alcohol, that’s when I look my best. That’s when I’m happiest, and I think it shows.”
She’s also big on grazing and limits her portion size, eating “six small meals per day.” But (because human) she does indulge on occasion – within reason. “If I fancy a burger, rather than deprive myself I’ll have a quarter of one,” she admitted.
As well as Pilates, the actress swears by power yoga and does two 90-minute classes weekly. Spin is another personal fave (she goes up to four times per week) and sometimes, she’ll even hit the court for a spot of cardio.
“My mum recently got me to play tennis, which I wasn’t good at but really enjoyed,” she said. “If you do exercise you enjoy, you’re keeping yourself fit without even realising it.”
