Whether you’re gearing up for your next marathon or just really like a good coffee and donut combo, Dunkin’s got a new shoe for you to wear while you do your thing. For the second year in a row, Dunkin’ teamed up with Saucony to create a sneaker for the Boston Marathon.
The Saucony x Dunkin’ Kinvara 10 went on sale yesterday, and if the reception is anything like last year (when they sold out in hours!), it won’t last long.
The brands are staggering the roll-out a bit, though, with Saucony carrying pairs online today before select Marathon Sports stores in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Wellesley, as well as the store’s website, start selling them March 22.
Like last year, the shoes have plenty of subtle and not-so-subtle nods to Dunkin’. You’ve got the pink and orange color palate, of course, again covering a mostly white shoe. There is a coffee cup on the tongue and a reflective ‘Boston’ written on the back . My favorite touch is the tiny strawberry frosted donut medallion attached to the laces. Is there a better donut than the strawberry sprinkled?! No, there is not.
Also keeping with last year’s traditions, the shoes come in a box that looks like a donut box. As for the shoes themselves, they have memory foam technology in the footbed, rubber at the toe and heel to keep ’em durable, and an antimicrobial treatment inside to reduce odors.
Find the sneakers on Saucony’s website now. They retail at $120 for adult sizes and $65 for the kids’ version.
