Ponytail holder business Pulleez International has received a minority investment from Pharmapacks.
Instead of making hair ties in the traditional circular shape, Pulleez makes open-ended elastics that include a sliding mechanism meant to adjust to hold hair in place without causing damage.
The brand just launched a line, Pulleez Plus, that creates hair accessories for natural, curly and textured hair. The hair ties are sold on Amazon.
Terms of the Pharmapacks investment were not disclosed, but industry sources said Pullez has about $5 million in sales.
Pharmapacks is an e-commerce business that provides a technology platform for brands to handle logistics, fulfillment, marketing and sales. The group sells on its own web site, and also through Amazon, Walmart and eBay.
"The Pulleez Plus line of hair accessories was inspired by the women in our company who have evolving and diverse hair needs," said Adam Berkowitz, Pharmapacks' chief operating officer. "With Pharmapacks' and Pulleez's collective focus on serving the global beauty needs of multicultural women, we are thrilled to begin our new partnership in a common mission to deliver innovative, quality products."
