Gender-neutral fragrances have been picking up cultural steam for a while now, and this year, they will be recognized at The Fragrance Foundation Awards.
The Fragrance Foundation is establishing three 'universal' categories, meant to provide award options for gender-neutral scents. Universal awards are available in luxury, prestige and for packaging. The group is also launching an award for Innovative Fragrance Product of the Year, which will be open to unusual fragrance products — scented tattoos, perfume hair mists, scented matches, scented jewelry, etc.
The deadline for all entries is Jan. 24. Some winners will be announced at the Fragrance Foundation Awards Luncheon on April 3. The gala is on June 4.
Recently, the Fragrance Foundation also released its Notables Class of 2020. This year's group includes: Pol Bardají, manager of sales and business development for Cosmo International fragrances; Antoni Soszyński, global marketing director for Marc Jacobs Fragrances at Coty; Elizabeth Cavallacci, account manager at Firmenich; Alice Inchauspé, junior account executive sales and business development at Givaudan; Abigail Spratt, SCI researcher at International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.; Valerie Anderson, senior marketing manager for Mane; Dora Gaffaney, senior director of global marketing and brand development at Parlux; Melissa Pacansky, fragrance evaluation manager at Symrise, and Patricia Montelongo, executive director of education for Joe Malone London North America at the Estée Lauder Cos.
