The Simple At-Home Exercise Kristen Bell Swears By For Sculpted Arms

We know Kristen Bell is fit, but the actress rarely gives us a glimpse into her workout routine. This week, however, she revealed an exercise she does for sculpted arms at 40.

On Tuesday, Bell posted an arm workout to her Instagram Story. The best part? You can do it at home! In the video, the Frozen II actress performed a few triceps dips with a chair, using her adorable dog Lola as extra weight on her lap as she finished out the set. “It’s so much easier to work out with a partner!” Bell captioned the clip.

In April, the mum-of-two also gave fans a quick look at her lower-body workout. “I thought the burpees at the end would kill me…but I’m very much ALIVE and incredibly grateful for that blood pumping session,” she wrote.

Today I busted my buttocks doing @charcurtis @indoorphins workout. I thought the burpees at the end would kill me…but I'm very much ALIVE and incredibly grateful for that blood pumping session. I don't work out to get a certain body shape. I work out for my mental health. And I notice a BIG difference when I do and when I don't When I don't, I'm sad, irritable, anxious and lethargic. When I do, I'm content, motivated, peaceful and energetic. If you'd like to join us, @charcurtis has @indoorphins classes every day at 11am, and it's always challenging, which I love(and also hate). Today we had to partner with someone, and pin a screen on zoom and pass off workouts with out partner, and I made a new friend named AnnMarie!! See you at 11am tomorrow!!!

While Bell is a fan of SoulCycle and Pilates classes, she still looks for creative opportunities to exercise at home. “I sprint up my driveway, walk back, repeat. I do it 10 or 15 times. The whole thing takes me maybe 15 minutes,” she told SHAPE. “It’s fantastic for your heart, brain, and body. And sprinting makes me feel really strong.”

She also gets some reps in while she’s working. “While I’m running through lines with my fellow actors, I’ll be leaning backward on a chair doing triceps dips,” she said. “At home, when my kids and I are on a walk, and they’re meandering and looking at leaves, I’ll do lunges. I get it in however and whenever I can.”

But most of all, Bell makes exercise a priority because it keeps her mood balanced. “I don’t work out to get a certain body shape. I work out for my mental health,” she wrote on Instagram. “And I notice a BIG difference when I do and when I don’t. When I don’t, I’m sad, irritable, anxious, and lethargic.
