Ellie Goulding Just Showed Off Her Abs In A Hardcore Instagram Workout Video

How does Ellie Goulding stay in shape? Dumbbells, pushups, and lots of boxing. The British singer just posted a workout video on Instagram showing how she stays strong, while baring her toned abs in a sports bra.

In the video, Ellie does weighted squats with dumbbells, pushups, a boxing move, a deadlift with dumbbells, weighted lunges, and inverted crunches with an exercise ball.

Along with the post, she shared a story from the boxing ring, where she spars with her coach, Shane McGuigan.”@shanemcguigan putting up with me when he trains world-class fighters is the ultimate patience,” she wrote, though TBH she looks like she’s killing it.

Ellie takes her workouts pretty seriously, and told Women’s Health UK last year that she’s a fan of Barry’s Bootcamp, running on a track, and that oftentimes, she sweats it out at her local gym, just like everybody else.

Did you know Ellie performed at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding?

“I’m more of a burst girl than sustained,” she said of her running style. “I like it when the treadmill’s on dynamic and I do sprints. I also prefer using my own body as weight, so press-ups, mountain climbers, and burpees.” (FYI, dynamic mode is when the treadmill is off, and you use your body to move the belt. Yes, it’s as hard as it sounds.)

But even though working out helps her stay in shape for performing, Ellie revealed that not everyone was impressed by her hardcore workouts at the beginning of her career. “A lot of music critics associate my passion for fitness with being boring or the opposite of rock ’n’ roll, which I resented because my job is based on me being a bit crazy. I wouldn’t have written any of my songs without losing it a little,” she said.

Plus, times have changed. “And all those people that said those things and made fun of me… everyone’s doing it,” Ellie added. “Everyone’s eating more veggies and meditating and doing yoga now.”
