Krispy Kreme Is Turning Its Glazed Donuts Green for St. Patrick’s Day—and Giving Away Free Donuts for a Year!

Chicago may dye its river green for St. Patrick’s Day, but Krispy Kreme is dyeing it’s original glazed donuts the holiday hue. Is one bigger than the other? Who’s to say. BUT, our beloved donut shop definitely has the sweeter end of the deal.

All next weekend—March 15 to the 17th, to be exact—Krispy Kreme’s most popular donut will turn into the O’riginal Glazed donut. It’s not just a layer of frosting; the seasonal donuts are actually made with specially formulated green dough, then coated in the sugary glaze you know and love.

To continue the holiday fun, the donut shop is giving away thousands of pots of gold, if you will, in the form of a “Golden Dozen Pass.” The winners (multiple customers at each participating location, Krispy Kreme says) will receive free original glazed donuts for a year. Specifically, one dozen per month through St. Patrick’s Day 2020.

Krispy Kreme rolled out the green donuts last year, too, and fans on Twitter have been anxious to see if they’re coming back. I, for one, am glad this pup won’t be let down.
