“No, the label comes only after the harvest by means of a Laser on the fruits and vegetables”, explains Ulrike Bickel man of the Federal Agency for agriculture and food (BLE).

The procedure has no influence on shelf life, taste or vitamin content.

“The product is not damaged, since only in the uppermost cell layer, the natural color is removed,” says Bickel man.

To be able to organic fruit or vegetables from conventional foods differ, were characterized the products for a long time with plastic sheets or stickers.
