Lady Antebellum Dish on What It's like to Tour with All Six of Their Kids at the 2019 ACMs

Lady Antebellum is one big happy family!

The group spoke with PEOPLE Sunday ahead of the 2019 ACMs in Las Vegas — where they’re up for group of the year — and dished on the dynamic among each other as fellow parents.

“[We have] six [kids] total so when we get ’em all together it’s a circus, for sure,” said Dave Haywood, who is dad to daughter Lillie Renee, 15 months, and son Cash Van, 4½.

That circus while on tour includes “a lot of diapers and an entire bay full of toys” chimed in mother of three Hillary Scott, who shares three daughters with husband Chris Tyrrell: identical twins Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn, 14 months, and Eisele Kaye, 5½.

“It’s kids everywhere, ’cause honestly it changes,” added Scott, 33. “With every month that goes by … they’re walking now and everything kinda changes, so it’ll be interesting how the summer unfolds with all the kiddos.”

And according to Scott, there’s still beer where she and her bandmates are concerned — “It just comes out after 7 p.m.,” she joked.

Scott, Haywood and bandmate Charles Kelley (who’s dad to son Ward Charles, 3) opened up to PEOPLE in February about their new residency and how they’re already thinking about how they’re going to explain some of their more adult lyrics to their little ones someday.

“There’s one song that says ‘Damn’ a few times and Hillary said, ‘Should we take a damn or two out?’ ” Kelley, 37, recalled while chatting with PEOPLE. “I said, ‘You’re afraid of Eisele hearing that, aren’t you?’ “

“I’m waiting for them to ask, ‘What does it mean to be drunk at a quarter after one?’ ” joked Haywood, 36, referring to the group’s smash "Need You Now."

Scott said the band’s children are now more of an inspiration. “We lived a lot of life before our kids and we still pull from those places,” she explained. “They add to who we are and the parents we are.”

Lady Antebellum’s 17-date summer tour kicks off Jun 5 in Cherokee, North Carolina, concluding on Aug. 17 in Sparks, Nevada, before the group return to their Las Vegas residency at the Palms Casino Resort.

The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, are broadcasting live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7, at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on CBS.
